Brrr..... it's getting cold out there

The leaves have fallen and the we've seen hints of the season to come with chilly weather and cold winds. Though nature tends to hibernate, the leadership and members of SWEP do not! Gathering with friends, giving thanks, celebrating the wins and reflecting on all that has taken place this year, it also is a time to start planning for a successful 2025.

Camp Soles Weekend Getaway

October 18-20

Another amazing weekend of bonding, adventuring, crafting and so much more with the women of SWEP at Camp Soles in the Laurel Highlands. This is always a special time of the year for members to connect more deeply on a personal level.

This year's weekend had great weather, music, campfires, savory and sweet smores, hikes, yoga, crafts, and both new and returning campers. As a professional organization filled with passionately committed and hard-working women, it can be difficult to find time for ourselves and Camp Soles is such a welcome gift filled with unforgettable moments.

Ohio River Basin Alliance Summit

"Healthy Waters, Healthy Communities: From Headwaters to Mainstem"

October 30 - November 1 @ University of Pittsburgh

The 2024 ORBA Summit was a three-day event that featured engaging speakers, unique field trips, and ample opportunities to network with water professionals across the Ohio River Basin.

This summit offered sessions and workshops designed to bring together community, agency, academic, government, and non-profit groups. SWEP served as a Tributary Sponsor and several SWEP members attended to share successes and strengthen bonds across the region!

The Ohio River Basin Alliance (ORBA) is a collaborative, unified voice of stakeholders for water resource priorities of the Ohio River Basin striving to sustain healthy ecosystems and river communities and vibrant water-dependent economies. ORBA provides a forum for addressing water resource issues in the Ohio River Basin in today’s changing environment.

25th Anniversary 3 Rivers Wet Weather Sewer Conference

November 6 - 7 @ Monroeville Convention Center

Each year more than 400 municipal officials, engineers, managers, public works directors and wet weather experts attend the 3 Rivers Wet Weather Sewer Conference to learn, educate and share experiences for overcoming the wet weather problems that have plagued the Pittsburgh region for decades. More than 90 exhibitors share their products and services while local, regional and national speakers present educational sessions on a variety of wet weather issues. Upping our game once more and tabling to represent all the women and passionate work of SWEP Three Rivers, our representing attendees also hosted a happy hour on the first day.
